VIDEO: Michigan State Retires Draymond Green's No. 23 Jersey at the Breslin Center

When you make it big, you always have to remember your roots no matter what. That's the case for Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, who on Tuesday night returned to his alma mater for a very special occasion. Michigan State retired the proud alum's No. 23 jersey during their game against the Duke Blue Devils at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, and the scenes were joyous.
Green's family wasn't the only group close to him to attend the big ceremony. Warriors coach Steve Kerr and teammate Klay Thompson were on hand to see Green's number raised into the rafters.
In fact, Green's Warriors teammates over the years sent out a video congratulating him on his big day.
In his four years at Michigan State, Green scored 1,517 points, hauled in 1,096 rebounds -- the most in program history -- tallied 456 assists, and was named 2011-12 Big Ten Player of the Year. Green is also the only Spartans player to ever score over 1,000 points and grab over 1,000 boards.
Draymond's success at Michigan State translated to the NBA, where he has three championships to his credit. Now, he's forever immortalized at the East Lansing campus.
One day, don't be surprised if that No. 23 gets raised to the rafters at the Warriors' Chase Center, too.
