The Demon Deacons have been a sneaky good team this year, and one could argue they're better than their 8-4 record might suggest. Thanks to the play of Jamie Newman (2,693 passing yards and 23 touchdowns), Wake Forest is bowl eligible for the fourth consecutive year.
While the Spartans find themselves sitting at just 6-6, this team is incredibly talented and well-coached. It was not long ago that Mark Dantonio's team finished 10-3 with a victory in the Holiday Bowl. While this is a different squad entirely, Dantonio's big-game coaching experience should come into play in this contest.
