Michigan QB Dylan McCaffrey Heisman Hype is the Biggest Joke of the College Football Offseason
By Mark Powell

We do this literally every year.
The Michigan hype train is about to leave the station, and front and center is potential new presumptive starting quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, who would be taking over for the talented yet often disappointing Shea Patterson. McCaffrey has a ton of arm talent, but his lack of in-game action should make Wolverines fans pump the brakes on their expectations, at least for now, right?
...Nope! The kid already has Heisman hype.

What are we doing here?
Is it possible for Michigan to begin their season quietly for once, or is that simply out of the question? Without spring pracitices to lean on and with the entire season up in the air, McCaffrey will enter his first game as starter in Ann Arbor at a disadvantage. Jim Harbaugh will coach him up, as he's evidently one of the best quarterback gurus in the country (see Luck, Andrew), but to place him among the likes of Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence is wrong and unfair to a kid with 242 career passing yards.
Could Dylan McCaffrey fill the gaping hole in @UMichFootball's offense?

Here’s a breakdown of his fleeting 2019 season to try to find out. https://t.co/3WTenFgi4a
Perhaps most importantly, McCaffrey isn't even a sure thing to be a starter come 2020. He's competing with rising sophomore Joe Milton, whom scouts have described as having a generational arm. Where's his Heisman hype?
Michigan's schedule is once again brutal. They've beaten Ohio State just once in the past decade, and are far from the perennial powerhouse they ought to be given how much they're paying Harbaugh.
Let's just skip ahead to the part where I boast "I told you so."
