Miguel Andújar Sends Message of Positivity on IG Following Successful Labrum Surgery
By Sean Facey
Miguel Andújar is officially on the comeback trail!
The New York Yankees third baseman posted a positive message on his Instagram following successful surgery to repair his torn labrum.
The young star quoted scripture, saying in the caption "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you: do not fear, I will help you."
It's heartwarming to see one of baseball's rising stars in such good spirits after a major setback.
Andújar came into 2019 looking to build on a successful rookie campaign in which he finished with 27 home runs, 92 runs batted in, and an .855 OPS, but a partial tear of his right labrum put an end to his season.
Ultimately, it was the best choice for both him and the team. It's better to preserve his health for future years than to potentially sacrifice everything for just one season. He's still just 24-years-old, so he has a long career ahead of him.
Andújar is expected to take between four and sixth months to recover. If all goes well, he'll be more than ready to rejoin the Yankees for the 2020 season.
