Miguel Cabrera to Undergo MRI on Knee Saturday
By Max Scoli
Detroit Tigers first basemen Miguel Cabrera was forced to leave Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves with right knee soreness, a problem that has been lingering around for the 11-time MLB All-Star over the past several days.
"I felt it at the plate the last three games," Cabrera said. "I didn't use my legs too much. It's hard because I want to be on the field. I want to be able to hit and play defense and help the team win."

The next step is for Miggy to undergo an MRI, which will take place on Saturday to see if there is any structural damage.
His discomfort may come as a relief to some Tigers fans, as it would explain his horrendous performances over the past week. The two-time AL MVP and former Triple Crown winner is uncharacteristically batting just .174 with a .259 OBP and .304 SLG over his last seven games.
Cabrera has struggled all season long, though, especially in the power department. The former two-time AL home run leader has two total home runs in nearly 200 at-bats on the year. For a player who regularly hit 30 homers a season, it is clear that Miggy's body isn't what it once was after the wear and tear of a 17-year career.
Tigers fans can only hope that the man who comes out of that MRI is the Miguel Cabrera of old.
