Miguel Cabrera Totally Baffled After Monday's Ejection From Tigers-Astros for Lamest Reason Ever

Miguel Cabrera has done just about anything an MLB slugger could hope to do over the course of his career. He's got a World Series ring and two MVP trophies. He won a freaking Triple Crown. He's one of the most obvious locks for the Hall of Fame you could possibly find. But on Monday against the Astros, the Detroit star received a dubious honor that even the game's greats generally can't match.

He was ejected from a game for... *checks notes*... chatting with an opposing player in Spanish?

"I don’t really know, because [umpire Alfonso Marquez] said he warned me three times,” Cabrera said, per the Detroit Free Press, of a dispute about balls and strikes.

Let's set the scene. Houston's Yordan Alvarez was at the plate, with Jose Altuve on deck. From the dugout, Cabrera was chatting with Altuve when a 2-2 pitch came in that resulted in a favorable call for the Stros. Cabrera insisted to Altuve that he didn't get such a charitable call on what he saw to be a similar pitch.

Well, Marquez clearly thought Miggy was talking to him rather than Altuve. He immediately threw him out of the game.

Huh?

Moments later, Tigers skipper Ron Gardenhire was also tossed for (rightly) arguing the absurdity of Marquez's decision.

Robot umpires, folks! Robot umpires! They'd never allow this kind of crime ever to be committed against a legend.
