Mike Foltynewicz Assures Braves Fans That He's Shaking His Arm for No Reason and Isn't in Pain
By Scott Rogust

Fans of any sport will concentrate on the mannerisms of their favorite athletes to see if there's anything out of the ordinary, particularly in Spring Training after a long offseason. Well, Atlanta Braves supporters had quite the scare when starting pitcher Mike Foltynewicz was spotted shaking his arm after virtually every pitch during Sunday's Spring Training game against the Boston Red Sox.
After the game, Folty was asked about his odd arm movements, and he assured everyone that he is fine. In fact, he admitted it's a quirk he's had for a while, one which his own mother can't stand.
"It's just something I do. My mom always gets mad at me when I'm shaking my arm like that. Everything with the arm is good" Folty said a few moments ago.#Braves @680TheFan https://t.co/uSQohw79sw

You can't blame Braves fans for being concerned if you look back at the past calendar year.
After an impressive 2018 campaign, Foltynewicz's 2019 season was marred with elbow issues, which resulted in him tallying a 2-6 record and staggering 6.37 ERA in his first 11 starts. He was optioned to Triple-A after that span and rediscovered his form. Foltynewicz improved after being recalled in August, going on to post a 6-1 record and 2.65 ERA in 10 second-half starts.
Between a rough start to 2019 and a forgettable final outing in the NLDS, Mike Foltynewicz was dominant. What is the new baseline for the righty?

The Braves have World Series aspirations heading into the 2020 regular season, and Foltynewicz plays a big role in that goal. Take a sigh of relief, Braves faithful, because Folty's arm shakes are just par for the course and nothing to stress over.
