Mike Foltynewicz's Incredible Game 2 Outing Completes Perfect Turnaround From Awful Start to Season
By Jerry Trotta

Can we please talk more about the improbable comeback story that is Atlanta Braves right-hander Mike Foltynewicz?
Folty had high expectations coming into 2019 following his All-Star campaign from 2018, but the 27-year-old was nothing short of abysmal through the first few months of the season, and he ultimately forced the Braves to demote him to the minors.
The former first-round pick was promoted in the first week of August and to say that he returned with a vengeance would perfectly describe his remarkable turnaround. And that revival was completed during his stellar showing in Game 2 of the NLDS against the Cardinals on Friday.
SHUTOUT!

Foltynewicz messed around and spun one of the most dominant playoff outings in Braves franchise history. He tossed seven shutout innings while striking out seven and conceding just three hits.
To think that this is the same hurler who logged a 6.37 ERA throughout his first 11 starts of 2019 is nothing short of stupefying.
The stellar performance etched his name in Braves history as he became the third pitcher to throw seven or more innings of shutout ball while issuing zero walks. The other two? Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine -- two club legends.

Folty's outing couldn't have come at a better time, too. Atlanta was desperate to head back to St. Louis with the series tied up after Mark Melancon's meltdown late in Game 1.
Thanks to the absolute gem twirled by Folty on Friday night, the Braves got their wish.
