VIDEO: Mike Leach Goes off on Reporter at Press Conference After Another Apple Cup Loss
By Michael Luciano
Chris Petersen and the Washington Huskies once again proved to be Mike Leach and Washington State's kryptonite, as the Cougars failed to rack up 20 points for the seventh consecutive Apple Cup, losing to UW in a 31-13 loss. Leach appears to be pretty touchy when it comes to the Cougars' record in their biggest rivalry game of the year, as he went off on the Spokesman Review's Jon Blanchette, calling him a "sanctimonious troll" after he asked if Washington State isn't supposed to beat a Washington team that recruits better than them.
Leach is a mastermind of designing offense, but Jimmy Lake and Chris Petersem have just proven too much for him, even when Leach has had the benefit of pro quarterbacks like Luke Falk, Gardner Minshew and future pro Anthony Gordon, who struggled today.
Other Pac-12 defenses might end up gashed regularly, but the intimidation factor of the Air Raid doesn't phase the Huskies.
The book is out on Leach, as he'll come out guns blazing and dare you to try and stop him. So far in Pullman, the only team that has been able to call his bluff has been Petersen and the Huskies, who haven't lost to their in-state rivals since 2012.
