Mike Mayock Does Very Little to Stop Derek Carr Trade Rumors With Latest Combine Comments
By Michael Luciano

The Las Vegas Raiders know they need to make a splash now that the team has officially moved from Oakland, and that splash could come in the form of booting Derek Carr out of town and starting fresh under center.
Raiders GM Mike Mayock didn't try to shoot down all of the rumors that have claimed Carr is on the move, as he said that he would "look into" upgrading at quarterback despite saying he was "very happy" with Carr just seconds earlier.
Raiders’ GM Mike Mayock on Derek Carr: "Derek played at a high level last season. I'm very happy with Derek. But as I've said before, we will evaluate every position on our roster and if there's a chance to upgrade, we will look into that."

Not exactly a vote of confidence.
Drafted in the second round of the 2014 Draft out of Fresno State, Carr has made three Pro Bowls with the Raiders. Fresh off completing 69 and 70 percent of his passes in his first two seasons under Gruden's watch, Carr is the all-time leader in passing yards in Raiders history while ranking third in touchdown passes.
Carr posted pictures that showed him playing against teams like the Bears and Colts that have been mentioned as landing spots, but his brother David claimed he was just joking.

The @Raiders were one of just three teams in 2019 to log a 4,000-yard passer (Derek Carr), 1,000-yard receiver (Darren Waller) and 1,000-yard rusher (Josh Jacobs).
It marked the first such occurrence in team history.#RaiderNation
Carr is firmly sandwiched in the middle of the pack as it pertains to NFL starting quarterbacks. He'll put up good numbers and win you games, but you're probably not going to win a Super Bowl with him at the helm. If Jon Gruden continues his trend of burning through quarterbacks after only a year or two, Carr could be on his way out of town as the Raiders look to the draft to find their next franchise quarterback.
