Mike McCarthy Set to Meet With Cowboys Despite Jason Garrett Not Officially Being Fired
By Jerry Trotta

The Dallas Cowboys' continued slow-play of their inevitable firing (we presume) of Jason Garrett has grown painfully stale.
Despite not officially parting ways with Garrett, there have been an assortment of candidates linked to the impending vacancy.
Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, we can now add Mike McCarthy, a hot commodity amongst teams searching for HC's, to that list. The former Green Bay Packers head coach is apparently headed to Dallas to speak with the Cowboys.
Sources: Former #Packers coach Mike McCarthy is headed to Dallas to speak with the #Cowboys. The team has not announced anything on coach Jason Garrett, though they are expected to move on from him and are laying the groundwork for a search.

McCarthy will mark the first head coaching candidate to speak with the organization, which could speak volumes to the Cowboys' intentions of hiring him.
One of the outcries from Cowboys fans in the wake of Garrett's delayed canning has been that the team will fall considerably behind in the interview process.
Perhaps this "meeting" with the former Super Bowl champ is an admission that they need to get a move on.

We'll have updates on proceedings as they are made available, but for now, we can add Dallas to the extended bunch of organization's interested in McCarthy.
