Mike Zimmer Makes Claims About Stefon Diggs Trade That We Just Can't Believe
By Michael Luciano

The Minnesota Vikings picked up a massive haul of draft picks from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. While extremely talented and productive, Diggs was pining for a trade essentially the entire season, which prompted the deal this offseason.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer threw cold water on any speculation that Diggs was a pain in the rear in the locker room. Furthermore, Zimmer claimed he did not want to trade him, but Buffalo's offer was too good to pass up.

If you had no intention of trading Diggs, and valued him as a No. 1 receiver on a team that has their eye on a deep playoff run, you wouldn't have traded him. Yes, the Bills gave you a ton of draft picks, but Diggs would be in Minnesota if Zimmer and Rick Spielman wanted him there right now.
Diggs set new career highs in yards with 1,130 and yards per catch with 17.9. Replacing that production could be difficult, but the Vikings will lean on the services of first-round pick Justin Jefferson, selected with a pick Minnesota acquired from Buffalo in the Diggs trade, to replace the explosive deep threat.
Justin Jefferson's body control and contested catch skills are so impressive. He can adjust on a dime, get position and track the football.

I'm excited to see him run over routes and crossers in Gary Kubiak's offense. His YAC skills will be a weapon, too. #Vikings pic.twitter.com/hrFtYA0uto
After Diggs finds out that Zimmer actually wanted to keep him, he'll probably just fire off another one of his cryptic tweets that always wind around to veiled shots at the organization.
