Some NFL coaches pride themselves on the art of brevity when discussing matters concerning their team.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer threw that playbook right out the window when elaborating upon the opportunity to trade wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.

After Sunday night's preseason game, Zimmer talked about putting Treadwell on display for all teams to see in hopes someone wants to trade for him.

Treadwell had four catches for 47 yards as the Vikings attempted to show off the talent of their former first-round pick. After the game, Zimmer discussed the Vikings' plans regarding Treadwell's future in Minnesota.

This sounds more like a garage sale to get rid of useless junk instead of a "showcase."

Treadwell has slipped down the depth chart and has not received a lot of snaps with the first-team offense during the preseason. It's at least helpful he made the most of his time out there, though.

The New York Giants immediately pop up as a top trade candidate since their receiving corps has taken a big hit during the preseason. The Vikings didn't pick up the fifth year of Treadwell's rookie contract, which all but finalized this is his last season with the team (if he's not traded).

Treadwell is owed $1.8 million this season, so he's certainly a viable trade candidate given his salary and potential.
