Mike Zimmer Won't Commit to Stefon Diggs' Playing Status Despite WR's Decision to Travel With Team
The Stefon Diggs situation just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
Despite sending subliminal messages that he would like to be traded, the star wide reciever fully participated in the Vikings practice on Thursday.
Diggs is still reportedly upset with many aspects of the organization, but is also an active member of the team at the moment. This has led to speculation on whether or not he will play against the Giants at Metlife Statium on Sunday. To make matters even more murky, Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer didn't give a definitive answer when asked about about Diggs' status.
With a situation like this, Vikings fans have to ask themselves if they even want Diggs to play. He already seems to have one foot out the door, so is there any point in having him on the field if he isn't commited?
Diggs hasn't officially requested a trade yet -- at least from what we know -- and the Vikings reportedly have no interest in moving him. But if he's one of the best route-runners in the game and the Vikings can't get him the ball, they might as well deal him and get value if he doesn't want to be there.
It seems the Vikings are in a lose-lose situation here. Until there's more clarity, we have no idea what to expect in the coming days.
