MLB All-Star Game Finalists Revealed
By Max Scoli
With just two and a half weeks away from the 2019 MLB All-Star Game, the players who have been chosen as finalists to participate in the Midsummer Classic have been revealed:
The first takeaway from the American League Finalists is the prevalence of New York Yankees. In fact, the Bronx Bombers have finalists in each infield position, as well as Aaron Judge as an outfield nominee.
The only position they do not have a finalist at is DH, and we all know that Giancarlo Stanton would most likely have been in the conversation if he hadn't been bitten by the injury bug.
The Houston Astros also have ample representation, with Robinson Chirinos, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, George Springer, Michael Brantley and Josh Reddick all making the cut.
As for the National League, the Atlanta Braves were well-represented in the infield voting with each player being named a finalist. They also had two outfield selections in Ronald Acuña Jr. and Nick Markakis.
The Chicago Cubs had a healthy amount of selections at seven, including Willson Contreras, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Javier Baez, Albert Almora Jr., Jason Heyward, and Kyle Schwarber.
The MLB All-Star Game will take place on July 9 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
