MLB Insider Calls Nolan Arenado Trade ‘Inevitable’ With Multiple Teams Still in Play
By Jerry Trotta
It would appear that the Colorado Rockies' mismanagement of Nolan Arenado will turn out being an irreparable gaffe.
The five-time All-Star has voiced his frustrations about the organization's bewildering willingness to float his name around in trade talks just a year after inking him to an eight-year, $260 million contract.
Well, MLB insider Jim Bowden is of the understanding that a trade concerning Arenado is "inevitable", with the Dodgers, Rangers, and Cardinals tabbed as the most plausible suitors.
Bowden also notes that the Yankees, Astros, Braves, Nationals, and Cubs shouldn't be discounted as potential players in the sweepstakes, though those clubs striking a deal for the two-way world-beater seems farfetched, at best.
To this point, Texas and St. Louis have been the clubs most heavily-linked to a deal for Arenado, but no subsequent reports surfaced to confirm that progress was being made in discussions.
Still, it's appearing more and more likely that one of the baseball's best players will be traded this offseason. With Spring Training right around the corner, expect a flood of rumors in the weeks to come.
