MLB Insider Jeff Passan Slides Into DMs of Creator of Fake 'Jeff Passan' Account and Claps Back at Her on Twitter
By Scott Rogust
Fans and analysts of Major League Baseball are taking a break from the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal to follow the Mookie Betts saga. With Betts "pretty likely" to be traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers or San Diego Padres, the world awaits for official confirmation.
Of course, when big news is about to break, the number of fake baseball insider accounts increases, with the sole purpose of sending out bogus information.
One of the phony users sent out a tweet claiming to be ESPN's Jeff Passan, saying that the Boston Red Sox traded Betts to the New York Yankees for...Aaron Judge. Because yes, those teams are always willing to trade with each other. They're not rivals at all.
The individual claiming to be Passan, in this case, is a user named Ava, and she shared an update shortly after tweeting the trash.
After sending out the tweet using her fake account, she received a direct message from Passan himself. Of course, Ava defended herself, but not without resorting to name-calling.
Yeah, calling a guy a "simp" isn't going to lead to forgiveness. In fact, Passan threw it back at her in her replies.
As this week has shown us, Passan has no mercy towards internet trolls. If you're the creator of a fake account, Passan will find you, and he will roast you for thousands to see.
