Mookie Betts' Comments on Free Agency Should Reassure Red Sox Fans
It's well known that Boston Red Sox star outfielder Mookie Betts is set to be a free agent after the 2020 season, but until now its been rumored that Betts isn't happy in Boston.
Well the Boston outfielder shot that down quickly with his recent comments regarding free agency and the Red Sox organization.
Betts shot down rumors of him not liking the city or the organization, explaining how he loves everything about Boston and the Red Sox organization. He went on to explain how just because he tests free agency doesn't mean he won't return to the organization he started with.
The Red Sox know how important Betts is to the team, as the former AL MVP consistently produces each year. In his six-year career, Betts is a lifetime .300 hitter with a .374 OBP and 39.3 WAR.
Betts will likely command a massive contract, but the Red Sox should know that it'd be worth it. Players like Betts only come around so often, and it'd be hard for the city to forgive them if the Sox let him walk.
