Mookie Betts Says He’s Focused on Dodgers and 2020 But Doesn't Rule Out Return to Red Sox
By Jack Murphy

As the media is still reacting to the news of Mookie Betts becoming a Los Angeles Dodger, people have already begun to wonder what the future holds for the former American League MVP when his contract expires at the end of the season.
When asked about the possibility of returning to Boston, the superstar didn't rule it out, but insisted his focus was on the 2020 campaign and his debut season with the Dodgers.
Mookie on potentially re-signing with Boston in free agency: "I love Boston, man. But I do know that it's a business and I have to worry about 2020 right now and get to that point whenever it's time.

In a contract year for the MLB superstar, Betts has the exact right mentality. While he acknowledged that Boston was his home, he doesn't want to expend energy focusing on the future. He's going to give it his all in Los Angeles and worry about his next paycheck when the time comes.
Considering the Dodgers are among the favorites to win the World Series in 2020, it shouldn't be too hard for the 27 year old to stay focused.

Red Sox fans can hang onto to hope knowing that Betts hasn't ruled out a return to Beantown, but it's far too early to get attached to the idea of the star outfielder returning to the club.
