VIDEO: Mookie Betts Throws Out His First Runner at the Plate in Dodgers Uniform
By Jack Murphy
Los Angeles Dodgers newly-acquired right fielder Mookie Betts is known for being one of the MLB's best defensive outfielders. Well, on Friday, he gave Dodger fans a taste of what's to come from him in right field, gunning out a runner at the plate for his first outfield assist.
With a runner on second base, Keon Broxton lines an 0-1 pitch to right field where Betts quickly fielded the ball, gathered himself with a curl hop and threw out Omar Narvaez trying to score.
The ball was definitely under-thrown and it seemed to be rolling to the plate as the catcher picked it up and tagged the baserunner out, but Betts still got the job done, earning his first outfield assist as a Dodger. There's plenty more where the came from, folks.
