Mother of 5-Star South Carolina Commit Reportedly Won't Let Him Sign With Gamecocks Yet

While it didn't look like there'd be any late drama for South Carolina and its effort to land 5-star defensive tackle Jordan Burch -- oh, it's here.
On Wednesday, Burch announced he'd be signing with the Gamecocks at a ceremony at his school and even appeared to sign his National Letter of Intent. However, the program never announced his signing.
Now, reports have surfaced stating the SEC program never received Burch's NLI. Well, that's because his mother hasn't given her permission for him to officially sign with them yet.

According to Tony Morrell of The Big Spur, Burch is all set to go to South Carolina, but his mom indeed is holding up things becoming official. Burch, the No. 2 DT in the country, picked the Gamecocks and Will Muschamp over Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Clemson.
No one knows what exactly the hold up is with Mrs. Burch, but the longer she waits, the more rumors continue to swirl about her son potentially going elsewhere.
To sum up today so far: Jordan Burch donned garnet Carolina cap, said a few words about his HS teammates, declined interviews, mother declined to confirm if he'd signed LOI, HS coach says no LOI to his knowledge yet, Burch has left building in Carolina cap

Will the 6-5, 275-pound defensive lineman end up with USC, or sign with another program? Right now, everything seems up in the air.
