Multiple Teams Reportedly Reached Out to Red Sox After Mookie Betts Trade Stalled
By Michael Luciano

Almost a week ago, the Boston Red Sox agreed to ship Mookie Betts and David Price to the Los Angeles Dodgers for pennies on the dollar, as all they got back was outfielder Alex Verdugo and pitcher Brusdar Graterol.
The trade is officially up in the air, as the Twins reportedly backed out of the deal after the Red Sox objected to the medical reports on Graterol.
Now, it looks like the Red Sox are currently exploring blockbusters with other teams to help kick the 2018 AL MVP out of Boston in the name of financial flexibility.
With three-way deal in jeopardy, will Mookie Betts and David Price still wind up with the Dodgers? Here’s the latest: https://t.co/kDvjxdtPoo

Insider Mark Feinsand reported that the Red Sox are still hell bent on getting a deal done with the Dodgers, but are keeping their options open.
It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out Boston didn't expect this kind of negative blowback in response to their Betts haul, and they could be angling to improve upon it retroactively.

This is beyond embarrassing for the Red Sox. Not only have they poisoned the well to such a degree that there is almost no way that Betts comes back and plays for them in 2020, but it doesn't look like they can improve the package they got from the Dodgers and Twins, as they proved that a promising young outfielder and a Top 100 pitcher is the going rate for Betts' and Price's contract.
This is a textbook definition of delaying the inevitable, as Betts is all but gone.
