Mychal Thompson Confirms Klay Will Re-Sign With Warriors in Free Agency
By Michael Luciano

Following his horrific ACL tear in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, Klay Thompson's future, specifically his 2019-20 season, has been thrown into complete chaos. At least, it WOULD have been if his dad, former Lakers star Mychal Thompson, didn't throw cold water on all the free agency rumors.
The elder Thompson confirmed there's "no question" Klay will re-sign with the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

While this move was to be expected, there was still an outside chance that the Lakers, who needed perimeter defense and 3-point shooting in the worst way, would offer Klay a max contract to try and pry him away from Golden State. As if the Lakers needed more bad news, that pipe dream is just about dead.
The Warriors are desperately trying to keep their core together, as they will offer both Thompson and Kevin Durant five-year max contracts despite the very real possibility that neither of them will play next season.

While everyone has been quick to bury the Warriors' franchise after the Toronto Raptors took them down in the Finals, it looks like their entire core could return to the Bay Area next season.
