On Monday night the Daytona 500 was resumed following a rain postponement on Sunday evening, and in the final lap, driver Ryan Newman spun out of control and was sent careening through the air. The aftermath saw his No. 6 stock car burst in flames with emergency crews tending to the racer. Reports indicated Newman had received serious, but non-life threatening injuries, which had been the best news to date. But on Wednesday, two days removed from the horrific crash, video footage emerged of Newman leaving the hospital while holding the hands of his young daughters. THAT'S now the best news.

A welcome sight for sure.
Earlier in the day, Roush Fenway Racing revealed that Newman was walking around Halifax Medical Center and cracking jokes with his family and the hospital staff.
