NASCAR Makes Unforgivable Gaffe With Tweet Directed at Cubs Fans

Say it with me, folks: if you're going to schedule your tweets, be available the next day to fix potential mistakes.

Or, you know, simply be aware of trends and the momentum of the past two weeks.

Though the Chicago Cubs have been a source of heartbreak throughout much of the season's final month, surrendering a Wild Card spot to the Milwaukee Brewers after completely spiraling in the NL Central chase, there's still one organization that believes in their playoff chances this year! The Cubbies were eliminated last week, but NASCAR is pretty sure they're in the postseason, and that their fans are in the type of mood to channel surf!

And in case Chicago kept the sound off, don't worry! There was a caption to further rub salt in the wound!

Look at that. Look at how positive @NASCAR was that the Cubbies would've sewn things up by now.

Chicago wasn't even really a heavy favorite entering the season. Or entering...the second half? Or in September, at any point? The Cubs needed to scratch and claw all year long, and at no point should this self-assured promo have even been shot.

Imagine Cubs fans flipping the channel to a mid-season NASCAR race?
