Nationals Announce Official Roster for 2019 NLDS
By Karl Rasmussen
The Nationals' streak of first-round exits in the postseason has come to a close after the team managed to take down the Brewers in the NL Wild Card on Tuesday.
Well, there isn't too much time for celebrating in the nation's capital, as the Nats will be back to work Thursday night for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers. And now we know exactly who will be apart of the squad for the best-of-five series.
The Nats released their official NLDS roster, and there weren't many surprises.
Perhaps the biggest takeaways were the inclusion of outfielder Michael A. Taylor, as well as the fact that the Nats included both Wander Suero and Austin Voth on the roster.
The most surprising name left off the roster has to be left fielder Andrew Stevenson, who was spurned in favor of Taylor. Stevenson wasn't a big contributor for the Nats, only appearing in 37 games, but was the team's primary pinch-runner, and his absence could be problematic when they're looking for fresh legs out of the dugout.
The show gets going in just a few hours, and we'll get to see if the Nats can steal a game from the Dodgers on Thursday night.
