Nationals Drop Lineup for Must-Win World Series Game 6
By Parker White
Now that the World Series has shifted back to Houston, the designated hitter is back in place, deepening the batting order for both teams.
The Washington Nationals are keeping things pretty similar to what they've trotted out all series, with the only omission being catcher Kurt Suzuki. Yan Gomes will get the start and bat ninth in Game 6.
NLCS MVP Howie Kendrick will not be getting the start at second base, and will instead be the club's DH and bat fifth. Veteran Asdrubal Cabrera will start at second base and hit behind Kendrick in the sixth spot.
The first four batters in the Nationals lineup will remain the same with Trea Turner, Adam Eaton, Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto. Washington has to hope Rendon comes out of his mini-slump, as he's hitting .200 (4-for-20) with two RBI in the World Series
Right-hander Stephen Strasburg, who has a 1.93 ERA this October, will go up against Astros right-hander Justin Verlander.
