Nationals Minor League Team Celebrates Anniversary of 'Ace Ventura' With Awesome Ray Finkle Swag
By Aaron Halford
The Washington Nationals' Single-A affiliate is celebrating the 25th anniversary of iconic Jim Carrey movie "Ace Ventura" for Friday night's game.
And it's safe to say the Potomac Nationals' jerseys will fit like a glove.
The jerseys are buttonless and the same color scheme as the Miami Dolphins team seen in the movie.
The back of the uniforms pay homage to fictional kicker Ray Finkle, who is (spoiler alert) famously revealed as Lieutenant Einhorn at the end of the movie. The 25 on the jersey represents the number of years elapsed since the movie's 1994 release.
The Potomac Nationals will take on the Lynchburg Hillcats of the Cleveland Indians MLB organization. In accordance with the festivities, there will be Ace Ventura trivia, and the ballpark will allow pets to attend the game (and detectives, we guess).
A personal favorite is that any fan with "Ace," "Ventura," "Finkle," or "Einhorn" in their full legal name receives two free reserved tickets to the game.
Friday evening's contest will decide which team comes out victorious, and which team goes home the loooo-hooooo-zuh-her.
