Nationals Scratch Kurt Suzuki From World Series Game 7 Lineup and Replace Him With Yan Gomes
By Thomas Carannante

The Washington Nationals were hoping to enter Game 7 of the World Series fully healthy, but they've hit an obstacle just a few hours before game time.
Kurt Suzuki, who suffered a hip injury earlier in the Fall Classic, missed the last few games but was on track to return Wednesday night for the do-or-die contest. After being put in the starting lineup, he was scratched shortly after and replaced by Yan Gomes.

The Nationals official Twitter account has acknowledged the change, too.

Suzuki was available to pinch hit in Game 6, so perhaps that's the same deal for Game 7, but apparently his hip flexor issue was too much to handle catching nine innings.
Whatever the case, it's all hands on deck for the Nats as they look to clinch their first-ever World Series. If Suzuki has to come in at some point to maybe catch for an inning or hit in a big situation, you can count on it.
