The Washington Nationals don't necessarily acknowledge the history of the Montreal Expos very often, but on July 6 when they face the Kansas City Royals, they'll wear the powder blue uniforms and tri-color caps to celebrate the 1969 Expos.

Washington will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Expos' inaugural season. Even if they don't want to admit it (and even if Montreal feels strange about the association, on the whole), the Nats franchise is linked to the Expos and part of their history.

This will be the first time the Nationals have worn throwback Expos uniforms since they migrated to D.C. in 2005. To make this a celebration of their Canadian heritage, the Nats will be selling some delicacies from North of the Border, including poutine and Montreal smoked beef brisket.

Washington will bring it home by having Expos great Vladimir Guerrero throw out the ceremonial first pitch before one of the games.

I wonder how Tampa Bay feels about this? I mean, they are trying to bring baseball back to Montreal, right?
