VIDEO: Nationals Twitter Shares Emotional Clip Honoring Anthony Rendon and the Caption is Adorable
By Andy Loughmiller
Anthony Rendon inked a massive seven-year, $245 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday, parting ways with the Washington Nationals after spending the first seven years of his MLB career with the team that drafted him. The Nationals captured their first World Series in franchise history in 2019, thanks in large part to the contributions of Rendon. They were pure class after the news dropped that the two-time Silver Slugger winner had signed with Anaheim.
Washington has nothing but love for Rendon. Their heartwarming video tribute and response to his departure is adorable.
The tweet and video will definitely put Nationals' fans deep in their feelings.
Rendon led the MLB in RBIs in 2019. He was responsible for several unforgettable moments against the Astros during the World Series. He will forever be a legend in Washington.
It's so refreshing to see a team and fanbase honor a player for their contributions rather than cursing their name and burning their jersey when said player does what's best for them. Kudos to the Nationals and their fans.
