Nationals Twitter Won Christmas and it's Not Even Close
Christmas is a time for brands to send out a well-crafted tweet that sums up the year while also offering up some holiday cheer.
Or, in the case of the Washington Nationals, it is a time to remember the champs (just in case anyone forgot).
That tweet was sent out Wednesday night with just 10 minutes of Christmas remaining. While other teams sent out heartfelt messages and generic holiday refrains, the Nats surely had some spiked eggnog and decided to be brutally honest.
The timing and lack of proper capitalization practices are both perfect. Really, this is what Twitter is all about. Those on the platform back when it began can appreciate such a tweet with no media, hashtags, or ads; just a good, ol'-fashioned statement under 140 characters.
The Nationals did indeed win the World Series, and there is really nothing else for the team to say. All the celebration videos have been shared and the magic has been experienced by the fans. Keeping it simple was the best available option and made for a legendary Christmas tweet.
