The man who shoved Kyle Lowry after his tumble into the stands on Wednesday night was not just a random unruly fan. He has been identified as Mark Stevens, a billionaire investor in the Golden State Warriors. Lowry was rightfully outraged about the push and called for Stevens' prohibition from returning to the arena.

Now, NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the NBA will ban Stevens from attending any NBA games while the league continues to investigate the incident.

Stevens' actions would be absolutely uncalled for regardless of who he was, but as a minority owner of the Warriors, he needs to be held to a higher standard than the average fan. His actions have no place in an NBA arena, especially as an investor in the opposing team.

The incident in question occurred during the 4th quarter of Wednesday's Game 3 of the NBA Finals, when Stevens took out his frustrations over the Warriors 10-point deficit on Lowry after he fell into the stands.

NBA players and pundits alike were outraged about the incident, with many calling for a lifetime ban from NBA arenas and Stevens' removal from the Warriors ownership group. After a weak initial punishment was announced by the Warriors Thursday morning, the NBA will now determine its own course of action against the part-owner.

The league's "investigation" should not last long. The video evidence should be more than enough to take swift action against Stevens.

Adam Silver did the right thing by treating Stevens as an example here. Laying your hands on players is beyond unacceptable, especially when you're supposed to be representing the NBA.
