NBA Reportedly Close to Agreeing on Disney World to Host Resumed 2019-20 Season

The NBA has provided sports fans a breath of fresh air with their consistently positive progress toward finishing the 2019-20 season despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. First came a target return date of July 31, followed by plans for just how many teams will be returning to play.
The most important order of business? Finding a place to play and a place to stay. Rumors have persisted for weeks now, and it appears that the NBA really will be heading to Walt Disney World in Orlando after all. The newest development centers on residential accommodations, per insider Keith Smith.
Per Walt Disney World sources, Disney and the NBA have agreed that Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is likely to be the primary host resort for the NBA when they resume the season. Sources say an agreement may be reached this week, which will allow preparations to move quickly.

This is not a done deal, but Disney World is a perfect location given the wide variety of facilities and tight ability to control who comes and goes. Coronado Springs Resort may be a familiar venue for some fans, and it will be a fascinating to witness just how this move received by players if and when it becomes official. Commissioner Adam Silver has worked closely with the players during this entire process, which is a stark contrast to what is going on in the world of, say, baseball.

News will hopefully come out soon regarding an official timetable for a return. Getting the venue was the key, and it appears the NBA has done just that.
