NBA Fans Claiming the Warriors Dynasty is Over Need to Pump the Brakes

All season long, we heard about rumors regarding the departures of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors. To many, that symbolized this year as the last of the Warriors' great dynasty -- and when Toronto took down Golden State in six games in the NBA Finals, it meant that the most despised superteam in the NBA would finally be broken up, and the NBA landscape could finally be fun again.

Well, to those people, I tell you this: not so fast.

Now, I'm not saying that the Warriors are a sure bet to win the Finals again. In fact, they probably shouldn't be considered the favorites, based on what lies ahead this offseason. But with a core of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and enough money to sign a free agent to a max deal, it's foolish to praise the end of the Warriors dynasty.

Sure, Kevin Durant is all but certain to leave in free agency, but let's not forget what the Warriors were able to do without him. Klay Thompson is bound to miss time with the ACL tear he suffered in Game 6, but if he re-signs with the team and Golden State still manages to snatch a top-tier free agent, they'll be right back at the top of the West.

So enjoy this one, basketball fans. The Warriors aren't NBA champions. But don't get ahead of yourself.
