NBA Redditor Has Amazing Theory That Kyrie Irving is in a New Age Alien Cult
By James.r
Everybody knows that Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving is a bit of a weird dude. He probably still believes the Earth is flat, the moon landing was fake, and dinosaurs did not exist (per his comments on Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye's "Road Trippin" podcast). Could this all be proof that he's a member of a cult?
Well, according to one Reddit detective, he just might be.
This wild theory arose after some very strange Instagram posts from the All-Star point guard this past week. Check this out and try not to go crosseyed:
Kyrie has been letting it fly on the 'Gram, and some of his posts have been trippier than others. This one was a real doozy:
I don't know how to interpret any of this, but according to user Broberg11 on NBA Reddit, all this eveidence would somehow suggest that Uncle Drew has joined a new age cult that believes some select humans are actually aliens meant to spread love and peace on Earth. And honestly, if that's the case, more power to you, Kyrie.
(I think the more likely explanation is that Kyrie has recently been taking advantage of the marijuana laws in Massachusetts, though I cannot produce any incontrovertible evidence at this time.)
Whether Kyrie believes in conspiracies involving aliens, dinosaurs, or unicorns won't matter to NBA teams come July when they'll all be scrambling to give him a max contract. There have been lots of rumors connecting Irving to the New York Knicks, and it may be a perfect fit: there are plenty of weirdos in New York City anyway.
I'm sure James Dolan can find some cult members to help him out with his pitch.
