The first official NBA All-Star voting returns have been released for the 2019-20 campaign, and while the headliners were as expected, there were certainly a few surprises as you look down the lists.
Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and LeBron James lead the way with each surpassing the 1,000,000 votes threshold.

All three are enjoying phenomenal seasons and rank among the top of the MVP race as well.
Coming in just behind them are Anthony Davis, James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, all of whom have received more than 700,000 votes.

As is always the case when fans get a say in the voting process, some cult heroes entered the top 10 of their respective conferences. Lakers' Alex Caruso and Celtics' rookie Tacko Fall both received more than 90,000 votes in the first returns.
Fall isn't even on the Celtics roster currently and plays for the Maine Red Claws in the G-League. He's played just a touch more than 10 minutes total in his NBA career. As for Caruso, he averages just 5.4 points for the Lakers, though he's managed to win over the fanbase with ease.

Other questionable inclusions in the first returns are Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard. Irving ranks as the second-highest vote getter among Eastern Conference guards, while Curry has received the fourth most votes in the Western Conference backcourt.
