Well, it would appear that the NBA's recent controversy with China isn't going to be resolved anytime soon.

On Thursday morning, CNN anchor Christina Macfarlane was cut off by a Houston Rockets public relations representative after she asked superstars James Harden and Russell Westbrook if they would "feel differently" about offering their thoughts on political and societal issues in light of the dispute.

Fast forward a few hours later and the Association released a truly deplorable statement to address the dilemma. If this is the league's supposed "apology" to Macfarlane, well, NBA junkies should be feeling mighty ashamed of their league.

The worst part about this whole ordeal is the fact that Macfarlane's question wasn't at all farfetched. In fact, she displayed excellent journalistic integrity and a Rockets representative humiliated her by shoving the question right back in her face.

To apologize for the laughable interference by describing the action as an "inappropriate interjection" is as pathetic as it gets.

Don't worry folks, the league has "apologized to Ms. Macfarlane as this was inconsistent with how the NBA conducts media events." Everything is OK now, right?

No, not at all. To be honest, the NBA should release two more statements. One should serve has a legitimate authentic apology to Macfarlane (even though a second apology isn't at all genuine), and another to apologize for their initial statement.

What a joke.
