Nelson Agholor Only Raises More Questions When Asked About Injury Urgency With Pending Free Agency
By Sean Facey
Nelson Agholor isn't doing a very good job putting the minds of Philadelphia Eagles fans at ease late in the season.
When asked about whether or not his impending free agency would factor into whether or not he plans to play through his knee injury, he remained non-committal.
"That's a conversation that people can have," he said. "The most important thing right now is to try and get healthy."
While it's not necessarily a bad answer, it also casts a massive shadow of doubt over his future with the team. It's all well and good to know that he's focused on getting healthy, but his unwillingness to say anything about his status with the team moving forward is just a bit concerning.
With the receiving corps already struggling, the last thing the Eagles need is for him to hold himself out of play. They're in the thick of the playoff race with the Cowboys, and one man could be the difference between winning the division and missing the playoffs entirely.
And for all of his struggles, he's still a fairly integral part of Philadelphia's offense. Since the start of the 2017 season, he has accumulated 165 catches for 1,867 yards and 15 touchdowns. They need him.
But the Eagles will just have to sit and wait, it seems, because Agholor isn't willing to commit himself one way or the other.
