Nets Star Kyrie Irving Expected to Return for Sunday's Clash vs the Hawks

Kyrie Irving's first season in Brooklyn hasn't gotten off to an ideal start. The star point guard has been dealing with a right shoulder injury which has limited him to just 11 games this season.
Well, it looks like his extended absence is set to come to an end. Adrian Wojnarowski reported Saturday evening that Irving is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday for the Nets' clash with the Atlanta Hawks.
Irving's shoulder injury has seen him shelved since mid-November. Through 11 games, the 27-year-old had averaged 28.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists. He'll hope to pick up right where he left off after missing nearly two months of action.
In Irving's absence, Spencer Dinwiddie has shined for the Nets. The veteran point guard is averaging 22.5 points and 6.4 assists. Still, Kyrie somehow has amassed more All-Star votes than his teammate.
With Irving set to return to the fold, the Nets will be hoping to stage a mid-season surge and surpass the Magic in the Eastern Conference. Currently in eighth place, Kyrie could do wonders towards propelling this squad up the standings.
