New Balance Unveils Kawhi Leonard Billboard in Oakland to Taunt Warriors
By Jerry Trotta
Toronto wants all the smoke!
Game 1 of the NBA Finals immediately put to rest any concerns skeptics and pundits held about the Toronto Raptors' inability to step up under the league's brightest lights.
And a New Balance billboard that was unveiled in Oakland proves that Kawhi Leonard (aka The King of the North) and Co. are eager to march southwest to Oracle Arena after Game 2 on Sunday to continue their quest to deny the Golden State Warriors' attempt at a three-peat. Have a look:
If there was ever a photo to summarize Kawhi's personality, this is it. Leonard, utterly emotionless with his arms folded in front of him, is literally picture perfect. Commuters in Oakland on Friday morning, already ailing from the Warriors' Game 1 loss, are surely infuriated now.
And let's peep that brilliant hit list of Orlando, Philadelphia, and Milwaukee crossed out over his shoulder, with Golden State listed next in his crosshairs.
Leonard had 24 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in Game 1 on Thursday. Let's not forget that there is an all-important Game 2 set to take place on Sunday, but "The King of the North" and the rest of the Raptors will arrive with bells on in Oakland for Game 3 on Wednesday.
In fact, in some form, he's already there.
