New Chiefs OT Lucas Niang Has Literally Allowed No Sacks in Last 3 Seasons and Patrick Mahomes Should Be Thrilled
By Michael Luciano

The Kansas City Chiefs know that protecting Patrick Mahomes should be priority No. 1, and they fulfilled that quota when they drafted TCU offensive tackle Lucas Niang with the No. 96 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Niang was the most reliable lineman on the Horned Frogs, as he didn't give up a single sack in pass protection during his three years as a starter.

Niang is a tremendous athlete for the position, but when that athleticism is paired with a 6-6, 330 pound frame, you get someone who should be a starter in this league.
According to reports, the Chiefs could move Niang to guard instead of his preferred tackle position, currently manned by Mitchell Schwartz, in order to put him in the starting lineup.

A scout I spoke to said he's a guy who can start at guard and eventually move out to tackle.
Niang struggled at times last year, but that was because he was battling a hip injury that limited his mobility. If healthy, and playing either guard or tackle, Niang should be reliable enough to get into the lineup on Day 1.
