New FSU QB Alex Hornibrook Catches Twitter Heat After Throwing Shade at Former Wisconsin Teammates

Alex Hornibrook needed a change after struggling in his final season in Madison. Thus, he took his talents to a polar opposite climate in Tallahassee. Currently in a battle with James Blackman for the Noles starting QB spot, Hornibrook was approached by the media on Friday and asked what it's like to work with FSU's talented receiving corps.

His answer, while innocent on the outset, can actually be interpreted as a subtle shot at his former Wisconsin teammates. They noticed.

Simply stating that Florida State's receiving corps was better than any he'd previously played with would've been enough. Instead, Hornibrook went straight for the heart, with a not-so-subtle jab questioning their intensity and love for the game. There's no other way to interpret this from a Wisconsin mindset.

In 2018, Hornibrook threw for 1,532 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, taking a major step back from his promising 2017 season under Paul Chryst. Still, there's no denying his talent as a game-manager, which Willie Taggart might prefer over the ingenuity of Blackman.
