New Nationals Slugger Eric Thames Looks Preposterously Jacked in 2020 Spring Training Pictures
By Adam Weinrib

Plenty of MLB stars showed up Picture Day-ready for the first week of Spring Training.
But it's possible that no star swoll'd up quite as much as this new face in a new place.
Eric Thames got paid by the Washington Nationals this offseason after a successful stint in Milwaukee, but he didn't take the offseason off, if you catch our drift. Check out the wild shoulders and delts that Thames reported to camp with.

Dear Lord. Does Florida still have open carry? Is he safe to lug those guns around during an election year?

Thames is coming off a year in which he rocketed 25 home runs in just 396 at-bats for the Crew, arguably his most productive season since returning from a heroic stint overseas in Korea. He'll be a key cog in Washington's bench rotation this year -- and by that, we mean he's going to be spending the first half of every game bench-pressing his teammates, in rotation.
