NFL Teams Should Be Kicking Themselves After Jets Punked Them and Stole Breshad Perriman
By Sam Dunn

After watching Robby Anderson depart in free agency for the Carolina Panthers, the New York Jets turned around and beat the odds, securing a more-than-capable replacement. On Tuesday, they reportedly agreed to terms with former Buccaneers speedster Breshad Perriman on an affordable one-year deal.
But the big story here isn't Gang Green -- it's all the NFL teams who badly needed to add receiver talent but let the Jets beat them to the punch.
Free agent Breshad Perriman is signing with the #Jets on a one-year deal for worth up to $8m with $6m guaranteed, per @RosenhausSports. Robby Anderson goes out, Perriman goes in.

Losing out to the Jets? Talk about insult to injury. The Eagles, Vikings, Texans, and Patriots could have especially used Perriman's help after losing notable wide receivers this offseason only to watch other free agent options like Anderson and Emmanuel Sanders come off the board.
Now, they're back to square one. And it's slim pickings from here on out.
Joe Douglas was still with the Ravens when they drafted Perriman in the first round in 2015. Perriman had a solid year with the Bucs. Now he will try to build off of it with the Jets. #nyj

The Jets won't be expected to go too far in 2020 even with Tom Brady moving on from the AFC East, but that's not the big takeaway. The opportunity for a number of would-be contenders to get better out wide with the help of a player who ended the 2019 season in impressive fashion is no longer on offer. And they have nobody but themselves to blame.
