It's no secret that Patrick Mahomes has quite possibly the strongest arm in the NFL, consistently wowing fans with his highlight reel plays. From his ability to zip in throws even while off balance to his snake-eye, sidearm passes, Mahomes' cannon is a versatile weapon indeed.

It's so versatile, in fact, that it could also whip around a baseball. With a father that played 12 years in the MLB as a pitcher, Mahomes comes from an extensive baseball background that attracted professional scouts from all over when he was still in high school -- including from the New York Yankees.

The Bronx Bombers scouted Mahomes extensively, and very high on him as a high schooler. After all, he had a fastball that touched 94 miles per hour, and could also swing the bat.

Mahomes still shows his love for America's Pastime, as he is sometimes seen wearing MLB jerseys and tweeting about baseball. On Tuesday, he tweeted about a certain newly enshrined Hall of Famer from the team that almost drafted him.

Mahomes' athletic versatility is unmatched by most anyone anywhere, and he's used his natural gifts and well-honed skills to propel his Chiefs to the doorstep of Super Bowl glory.

The world would be a much different place if Mahomes pursued baseball. He could very well be in the Yankee organization right now, refining his skills in the offseason in advance of a big 2020 campaign.
