New Carolina Panthers' head coach Matt Rhule was handed a very large contract from Panthers' owner David Tepper, with the former Baylor man due to make $60 million over the course of the next seven seasons.
Well, according to an anonymous NFC South coach, Rhule's lucrative contract was not appreciated by owners across the league. Other owners reportedly are concerned that Rhule's contract will drive up the price of other head coaching contracts, something they are not thrilled about.

According to Robert Klemko, the NFC South coach claims that "owners are pissed" about the seven-year deal Rhule was handed.
The big-money deal is especially interesting considering Rhule has no previous NFL head coaching experience under his belt, though his track record at both Temple and Baylor speaks for itself.

Based on his first press conference as a Panther it looks like Rhule is going to be worth the money.
While other owners may not be too fond of the Panthers' expensive hire, Tepper just needs to concern himself with results. If Rhule can turn this organization around, there will be no qualms with the salary he's raking in.
