NFL Admits to Bad Tripping Calls Against Cowboys in Loss to Patriots
By Michael Luciano

Two Dallas Cowboys drives in their 13-9 loss on the road against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were cut short thanks to tripping calls against Cowboys offensive linemen Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick, the latter of which took away a first down in a two-minute drill.
Everyone outside of the state of Mass. thought those calls were controversial, and the league confirmed as such. The Cowboys have been informed that both tripping penalties should not have been called.
Cowboys were in contact w/ the NFL on Monday regarding the 2 controversial tripping penalties in the loss to New England. Club was told those should not have been called.

That would have really been excellent if they were called correctly YESTERDAY.
This is hauntingly reminiscent of the NBA's "last two minutes report" in which they go over just how many missed calls happened at the end of close games.
While they should at the very least be commended for acknowledging they messed up, there needs to be some sort of system that holds officials accountable, both in real time and after the result.
Officials need accountability. Maybe they can have someone in NY who can reverse egregious calls.

Cowboys fans aren't thrilled that those phantom calls were later ruled to be erroneous, as they were denied from a chance to continue their comeback in New England.
