NFL Draft Analysts Are Already Giving Joe Burrow Really Dumb Player Comps
By Scott Rogust

LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow is the talk of college football at the moment. The senior signal-caller brought home numerous awards at the conclusion of the regular season, with the most important being the Heisman Trophy.
Burrow is projected to be a top prospect in this year's NFL Draft, where he's heavily linked to the Cincinnati Bengals. With the draft now a few months away, some professional analysts have already begun their homework on the potential No. 1 overall pick, and the "sneaky good athlete" takes are flowing already.

Matt Ryan averaged 0.3 yards a carry and had 58 yards lifetime on the ground https://t.co/8XkeByR87R
That's right, an unnamed analyst interviewed by NFL insider Ian Rapoport said Burrow is a deceptively-good athlete as Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. Here's the thing, Burrow has rushed for 741 yards throughout his collegiate career, while Ryan accumulated 58 yards at Boston College.
Not the best comparison to use, mystery analyst.
Burrow's arm isn't as powerful as the likes of Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, but he's simply an accurate passer, as evidenced by his 77.9 completion percentage this season.

Even if Tua Tagovailoa were not to go down with his season-ending hip injury, Burrow would have given him serious competition in terms of top quarterback prospect in 2020.
If analysts want to describe Burrow's athleticism, please come up with a quarterback not named Matt Ryan. That's just not accurate.
