NFL Must Drop the Hammer on the Browns After Myles Garrett Brawl and Multiple Helmet to Helmet Hits

The end of the Cleveland Browns' 21-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers was so barbaric and out of control that any other part of the game that preceded the final 10 seconds has been completely lost in the shuffle. Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett got into a heated exchange with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph before the clock struck zero, eventually pulling Rudolph's helmet off and using it as a weapon. Browns defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi was also involved in this clash.

And to think that Damarious Randall being ejected after making Steelers wideout Diontae Johnson bleed from the ear is a non-story.

The Browns played like a bunch of mercenaries Thursday night, with Garrett clearly the worst offender of all. If Garrett is suspended six games, which is more than the usual four that Roger Goodell gives out for basically every infraction, it would be the longest suspension in league history for one singular on-field action, and would take him out for the remainder of an embarrassing 2019 season.

Watching a 260-pound pass rusher bludgeon Rudolph with his own helmet, it's hard to argue against the league coming down extremely hard on the lawless Browns.

Last night was nothing but a black eye for the Browns and the NFL, and the only way to push it to the backburner is to come down in a pretty draconian way.
